Scottsdale is a great town — we're not here to knock it. But if you're comparing vacation rentals, it's worth an honest look at what the same budget buys on each side of the Valley.
Check AvailabilityScottsdale earns its reputation: upscale resorts, Old Town nightlife, excellent golf. You'll pay for it — peak-season resort rooms routinely run several hundred a night, and a private-pool vacation home there can double that. Gilbert trades the scene for space, quiet, and value.
| Typical Scottsdale stay | Casa Kit, Gilbert | |
|---|---|---|
| What you get | Hotel room or condo; shared resort pool | Whole 2,100 sq ft house; your own private pool |
| Sleeping | One or two beds, thin walls | 3 bedrooms (king + 2 queens), sleeps 6 |
| Kitchen | Mini-fridge, maybe a microwave | Full gourmet kitchen, 3 coffee setups |
| Laundry | Hotel service, hotel prices | Washer & dryer in the house |
| Parking | Often $30–50/night at resorts | Free, at your front door |
| Evenings | Resort bar scene | Hot tub, chimenea, game room, quiet streets |
| Nightly budget | Resort pricing, plus resort fees | $180–$350, all fees included |
A fair note: if your trip revolves around Scottsdale nightlife or you're attending an event in North Scottsdale, staying there saves driving. But for families, groups, golfers, and anyone who'd rather have a house than a hallway, the math favors Gilbert — and Scottsdale's attractions are still an easy drive when you want them.
Power Ranch is a master-planned community built around trails, lakes, and calm streets — not traffic and valet lines. Twenty-six miles of walking and biking trails, citrus trees in the yard, and a neighborhood where the loudest thing is the pool filter.
SanTan Village for shopping and dining, Trilogy Golf Course a 5-minute walk, 16 free pickleball courts 5 minutes away at Gilbert Regional Park. Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport is about 9 minutes; Sky Harbor roughly 46. The East Valley puts you close to spring training ballparks and desert hiking without the resort-district markup.

10 out of 10 — 137 of 142 reviews. Guests who priced Scottsdale first keep saying the same thing: they got twice the house for less money, and the location worked better than expected.
